Stella Artois
Beer Brought By Penny Darbyshire
|
 |
According to the label, Stella Artois is "Belgium's Premium Beer".
According to Mark Hutchinson "Belgians CANNOT make decent beer" (in reference to Duval).
I'm sorry Mark, but I have to disagree. Unlike Duval, Stella is a light, refreshing and
flavoursome beer. It comes in a regular sized bottle, it is of adequate alcohol content
(5% I think), and it doesn't make any strange or ridiculous claims on the label (eg.
"beer for all seasons"). It is quite simply a very tasty beer - light, refreshing,
tasty and best of all - beery.
I give it four thumbs up (four stars). |

Or holding up a prop. Or even hidden under the pile of rags you always see behind the scenes backstage but are just too scared to touch... |

In bottles it can;t be drunk fast enough, but at a bar, on a hot Summer day and by the pint it's one of the most refreshing beers around - and it gives you wobbly legs at the end of a session too.
Lovely stuff. |

Although when I was in Eastern Europe and a 500ml can was 75 cents, the brand lost a bit of its lustre in my eyes. Nevertheless, quite tasty, crisp and thirst quenching. |

Posted by mhutchinson on May 26, 2003 - 06:58 AM Your rating: Look, this is a decent enough beer (lord knows it's better than the crap I bought last week). Like Terence, I too have partaken of a few bottles in the past and believed it to be v.good and, no doubt will imbibe again. However, I still say the Belgians should stick to something else ... like the Eurovision Song Contest, making nougat, chocolate and Adelaide FC flags (red, yellow, black)...
Get the feeling Chris is right - Belgian's 'biggest export' is that way 'cause the locals won't touch it (cf. Fosters) - reckon the locals are drinking Duvel, Jupiler etc. |

Used to drink a bit of this when I didn't know much about beer, and was told by a couple of law undergrad mates that this was the beer to drink - I think they meant this was the beer to be seen drinking.
<SPAN class=500374406-23052003><FONT face=Arial size=2> <SPAN class=500374406-23052003><FONT face=Arial size=2>Starts off crisp and dry, with little of the offensive odour of the previous 2 green bottles (Kingfisher, Hollandia), and a nice bitterness in the aftertaste - great to start with. But as it warmed the bitterness started to take on a metallic edge, malt flavours were a bit more obvious, the odour returned, and it became increasingly dry. <SPAN class=500374406-23052003><FONT face=Arial size=2> <SPAN class=500374406-23052003><FONT face=Arial size=2>Still drinkable, but it seems that the character of this beer is a little unstable, meaning that you may never know what you're going to get from Stella. |

Boot %5.2
Mass 330ml
Stubby holder test – Failed, too loose and falls out, if they put a bit more in them this would not happen, so tired of this 330ml crap.
The Beer its self is Ok, an easy drinking beer, not a strong wow what was that beer, just another drink all day beer without feeling a need to change after the first couple.
The boot is fine, (you know what I think of the volume) the stubby is well presented with its white hat and well-designed label.
Over all a good football beer: +) |
